A number is what makes receiving possible. Order one from the API, give it a label and point its inbound route at a webhook. Every fax to it lands in your private inbox.
Price
$2 per number per month and $0.019 per received page, as of 2026-10-28, from the prepaid wallet. No setup fee. The dashboard asks for a confirmation before it starts a recurring charge.
Where
United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands at launch. These are the countries where the provider needs no registration documents, read on 2026-10-28. Every other country is on request. Write to hello@faxforagents.com with the country and the use. We tell you what documents the provider asks for and how long it takes.
What you can do from the API
- Search the inventory by country and type.
- Order a number. The order answers with the number once the provider assigns it.
- Label it and set its inbound route.
- Release it. The monthly charge stops and the number goes into quarantine.
- List your numbers and read one.
The exact endpoints are in the API reference under numbers once the release that carries them is live. The reference is built from the server's own OpenAPI document, so it never lists a route that does not answer.
What is not included
Porting in and porting out are on request. Voice is not offered on these numbers. Toll-free numbers are not in the launch inventory.

Questions
How much does a dedicated fax number cost?
$2 per number per month as of 2026-10-28, charged to the prepaid wallet, plus $0.019 per page received. There is no setup fee and no minimum term. Releasing a number stops the charge from the next month. The price is the same in every country where a number can be ordered today. At launch that means the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
Can I port an existing business fax number?
Porting is on request and not self-serve at launch. Write to hello@faxforagents.com with the number and the current carrier. A port needs a letter of authorization and a recent bill. It takes days to weeks depending on the losing carrier. The number keeps working on the old side until the port completes. Port-out works the same way in reverse.
Who controls a rented fax number?
The number is leased to your organization for as long as it is active and paid. You decide its label, its inbound route and when it is released. The provider owns the number itself, as with any rented number. A released number is quarantined before it is offered to anyone else. A fax sent to it after release does not land in a stranger's inbox.
Which countries require extra number registration documents?
Most of them. Outside the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands a number needs documents. A company registration, a local address or an identity document, which the provider reviews before the number is assigned. That is why those countries are on request. The coverage page lists what we read from the provider on 2026-10-28.
